There’s not really a lot you can do with a hallway; they’re narrow, featureless and they are only really there to serve one purpose – giving access.
This doesn’t mean that you can’t make it an inviting area, and it’s important to realise that it’s the first impression of your home for your guests. If you happen to have a roomy hallway, then you can opt to install a warm wood burning stove, an intriguing fish tank or a classic telephone table.
It’s these features that can paint a positive first impression, but you can make the space more practical too. Bookshelves can be really nice touches, and so too can shoe holders, magazine holders and classical coat hangers. Make sure your hallway has some kind of personality, because it’s still an important part of your house, even if it isn’t necessarily a room.
