It is amazing how much stuff we bring into our homes and accumulate over the years. It may be that you have moved house once or twice and still have boxes that you never really unpacked, just shoved up in the attic or in a spare room. You might find it hard to let things go as we often attached sentimental value and memories to items which you might want to cling on to.

It often requires quite a bit of time to have a good declutter so it is important to only start it when you have the time to finish. If you feel like you are never going to have enough time, then break it down in to smaller chunks such as one cupboard at a time rather than getting everything out.

You need to be able to separate the items into what can go to charity, what is rubbish and what needs to be kept.

Keeping your home clutter free is good for many reasons. A clutter free bedroom will often help you sleep better and the saying a tidy house a tidy mind is often very true for many. It also a lot easier to clean a home that is clutter free as you will be able to access parts of it that you need to without having to move piles of unwanted items around.
