An insulated conservatory ceiling is a type of uPVC ceiling that can be fitted into the top of a conservatory. It helps combat some of the most common concerns relating to a conservatory, such as light glare and the temperature inside the room. It is easy to have a ceiling installed, and it can be very cost effective as well. It might just be the right time for you to start thinking about choosing an insulated conservatory ceiling.

So first of all, what exactly is an insulated ceiling for your conservatory? Won’t it make it too hot inside? Conservatories are known for being really warm, so won’t insulation just make it too hot? This isn’t true at all. An insulated roof will actually help to even out the temperature and make it more consistent, so you can enjoy ambient temperatures all year round. Your conservatory will be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Why might you choose one of these roof systems? These are some of the key benefits:

  • Better insulation for your conservatory
  • No glare from the sun above
  • Cost-effective
  • Reduced energy bills
  • A light and airy feel, without glare from the glass
  • Low maintenance materials
  • An easy addition to an existing conservatory

In fact, most people install an insulated roof into an existing conservatory – it is easily done. The roof will fit easily into the frame of your existing roof, and it won’t require a great deal of work. The process will begin with a roof check, to make sure there are no existing problems such as leaks, which might interfere with the new roof installation. Any issues will be ironed out, before the frames are inserted into the roof, and covered with an insulation quilt that meets building regulations and is fire safety certified. The construction is finished off with a uPVC shiplap design, which is what you will see on the underside of your roof.

Should you choose a uPVC conservatory ceiling?

Some people love uPVC insulated ceilings, but for others, they don’t feel like a real conservatory. How do you know where your preferences will lie?

If possible, go into a showroom where you will be able to look at the different insulated conservatory ceiling options available and get a real feel for them. Ask to see different samples, as well as doing your own research and looking online. This will help you to work out whether this is a look you like, and whether it will work for your conservatory. Some people are worried about losing all of the light that comes into your home. You won’t need to worry about this – there will still be plenty of light coming in from the panes of glass within the conservatory. The uPVC ceiling is usually white and will even help to make the room to look even brighter and more spacious.

If you have any of the concerns outlined above, an insulated roof could really help. Think about how it could help you use your conservatory more and get in touch with a professional supplier.
