Decorating is often something you either love or hate. Even people who enjoy decorating will often say that there are certain elements that they do not enjoy as much and edging is often one of those jobs. If you are painting the ceiling and the walls a different colour then you need to ensure that you get a straight edge between the two. The ceiling will often have coving around it which may be made from wood or possibly polystyrene.
First you need to decide where exactly you are painting up to. It may be that if the coving is damaged on the edge, you instead paint the wall colour on the inside lip of the coving too. You may be tempted to use a very fine brush to do the edging but this is not always the best technique. You can buy edging brushes which may make the job a little easier.
Many people use masking tape to get a straight edge but this will only really work if the surface you are attaching the tap to is smooth. If there is lumps and dents in it you may find that the tape doesn’t fit snuggly and when you remove it you have an uneven line.
